“BEST BET FOR ‘BESTERS’ IS A SECOND HOME
A new book, Besting: Better Nesting, by Bob Waun predicts that the current U.S. housing slump is the start of a migration of baby boomers to a new form of second-home ownership.
The U.S. market will trend more toward shared ownership, fractional ownership, condo hotels, timeshares and destination clubs, says Waun. [All are available in one form or another in B.C. — ed.]
“Besters” are buying better nests, not downsizing for retirement, he says, and this is a dynamic shift in lifestyle expectations for mature adults.
