Recently, I ran into a friend at the park who is a baby boomer, seeking a better lifestyle as his retirement years approach. An auto company employee, his job is endanger, and his future looked bleak. He wondered if he would be able to chase his dreams in retirement.
I suggested that I had spent the last couple years researching his dilemma: living better on less as the cost of rare-air and retirement lifestyles increased. Could he live in a ‘better nest’ now? I got him a copy of my book.
He has reported back that it has helped him set new goals for his retirement lifestyle with fractional and timeshare as the centerpiece of his better nesting strategies. He plans to live in 3 different locations and follow the seasons, and estimates that he can live on 20-30% less than he expected by just tweaking his plans around being in the best spots in the shoulder seasons instead of prime time (tip: the shoulder seasons are often the best time, as the crowds are gone and the parking/living is easy).
