1. Borrow some money and put it in your bank account. This will accomplish 2 things: first, it will give you cash in hand that will keep you feeling liquid, and liquidity is the name of the game in times of economic stress. Second, you will be boosting your bank’s reserves of cash as well adding liquidity to the financial system.
2. Buy something that is a great value. There are great values on many things - cars, property, stocks, toys, and treasures. If it is something that you will use and enjoy, and that you could sell in the future for more $, why wait? Buy it now! Moving money around the economy is like moving blood in the body, you’ve got to have good circulation to live.
3. Sell or donate something you are not using or enjoying. Get your garage cleaned out, turn your stuff into cash on eBay and make room for new things you want to have and will use and enjoy. Again - circulate the money.
4. Smile when you see your friends and family. Bad times pass, but they linger longer if everyone contributes to woe with more stories of woe. After just leaving the barber shop, its clear that even people without a single dollar in the Dow are acting as if their world has just fallen apart, what a shame. Save sorrow for truly sad things, and share positive outlook whenever you can muster the courage.

Hey Bob,
Thanks for your suggestions. My wife and I just spent an hour in our garage and labeled stuff that will be going to our local shelter for women at risk. And…the smile on my face is always there everyday. Until next time….Jim
